A website is not required for certain companies, e.g. for companies that are in small towns where most residents know them and offer goods and services that would make clients from other places not come. For everyone else today, a website is necessary and often a matter of survival. Even in the first case, it can be a matter of prestige and a sign of seriousness in your approach to the market (and the possibility for people to learn some new information from you without calling you on the phone).
Even in medium-sized places, there are many people who do not know about your offer and services (especially if you do not have a premises). They will go to Google and type in what they are looking for + the name of that settlement – that’s why you need to be present on the Internet and that’s how they find out about you. In larger cities (where many more people regularly come from abroad and where there is a bigger market) there is an incomparably greater need for it. Companies that do export (whether they are located in a village or a city) need a website so that foreign clients can always be informed about the complete offer (instead of the company sending pdf catalogs, pictures, texts to emails…). Such sites should primarily be made in English.
Having a Facebook page or a page and information about your services on a portal is not enough. You need your www domain, with only your content, because it is positioned incomparably better on Google search when people are looking for a service or product (while your Facebook page will generally be found only by those who are looking for you).
